Climate Justice and Sustainability Unit
Who is the Unit for Climate Justice and Sustainability?
The Department for Climate Justice and Sustainability is an official department of the OVGU Student Council. Currently the team consists of: Helena, Kim, Helen, Julia, Linda, and Lukas.
What is the mission?
We do not see climate protection as a technical task, but in terms of climate justice as a political one. For us, climate justice means thinking climate protection intersectionally and thinking critically about the consequences of our own actions for the environment.
What do you do?
Our goal is to use our work to increase student participation for climate justice. To do this, we organize, among other things, film screenings with discussions or panel talks and pursue long-term projects. We collaborate with other sustainability initiatives and host workshops, swap parties, and lectures.
What is your added value for our students?
We are a contact point for students whose ideas meet with ways and means with us.
We support actions, demonstrations or projects that deal with sustainability and climate justice.
How often are the meetings?
We meet every 2 weeks.
