Academic Bicycle Challenge (ABC)

The Academic Bicycle Challenge is taking place again this year, and under the motto "Moving OVGU together" we will be participating again in the action month of June 2026 .

As in previous years, routes will be recorded using the "Naviki" app . If you don't already have the app on your smartphone, you can download it from the app store and register for the competition. Detailed instructions are available here!

To give everyday cyclists a chance at the podium, there will be no traditional awards ceremony this year. All participants who reach the 333 km mark during the campaign period will automatically be entered into the prize draw.

Following the ABC event, we will randomly draw 10 winners . However, the team ranking will still be based on the most kilometers covered.

Here's how it works...

Kick-off event - June 1st

For all avid cyclists, we are once again hosting a kick-off event on June 1st, 2026 , from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM , featuring a variety of booths related to cycling. This time, the TK Trainer will be there (starting at 10:00 AM) and will be offering free bike fitting and coaching sessions. Another highlight will be the awards ceremony for the Kiplin Challenge, where the baton will be symbolically passed to the cyclists of ABC.

Registration: Registration is only required for TK Bike Fitting and TK Bike Coaching.

Awards ceremony - July 14th

When: July 14th, 5 PM

Where: in front of gymnasium 3 (more information to follow)

The ABC and its accompanying events are organized by the sports center, the company health management, the student health management and the sustainability office of OVGU.
