Volunteers wanted! Job vacancy at the Sustainability Office
The Sustainability Office at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has two student positions (m/f/d) to fill, starting on 1 October 2026. The positions involve a working week of 20 to 30 hours per month and are fixed-term for one year – with the possibility of extension.
Entry requirements:

An interest in and knowledge of sustainability and climate protection (in higher education institutions)

An interest in communication and public relations relating to sustainability issues

Skills in using software for creating graphics (Adobe, Canva, etc.) – ideally, knowledge of content management (Egotec)

Previous experience in event coordination

Ability to work as part of a team,
creativity and the ability to take the initiative
- Availability for on-site work (in Magdeburg, at the OVGU) and flexibility with working hours
- Fluency in German and English (spoken and written)
- At least one year remaining at the OVGU
Responsibilities:

Managing the online presence (website, Instagram channel, LinkedIn, etc.) of the Sustainability Office and the KlimaPlanReal-intensified project (e.g. creating texts, photos and graphics)

Designing leaflets, posters and other printed materials

Co-ordinating events such as the Eco-Social University Days, the Progressive Induction Week and other events (concept, preparation, implementation, and, where applicable, accounting and documentation)

Assistance with research and administrative tasks as required
